In October 2011 Ringway Jacobs were awarded the contract with Cheshire East Council to deliver the entire Highways Service for the area. This contract is for a period of 5 years, with the possibility of it being extended for up to 7 years, dependant on performance.
The contract is based upon the principle of integration between the public and private sector, with staff coming together from the public and private sector. The contract takes on a collaborative approach to service development and delivery. This is the second contract of its kind in the country, with the other also being a Ringway Jacobs contract for Buckinghamshire County Council. This style of contract has been set as an example of how contracts could work in the future.
We work in collocated offices across the district and have installed several systems to assist in the efficiency of the contract and work closely with the client to continually improve the service and deliver in an efficient manner and identify how things can be done differently, driving down costs.
