In April 2009 Ringway Jacobs were awarded the contract with
Buckinghamshire County Council to deliver the entire Highways and
Transportation Service for Buckinghamshire. This contract is for a
period of 8 years, with the possibility of it being extended for up to
15 years, dependant on performance.
The contract is based upon the principle of integration between the
public and private sector, with staff working for both Ringway Jacobs
and Buckinghamshire County Council. The contract takes on a
collaborative approach to service development and delivery. This is a
new form of contract and has been set as an example of how contracts
could work in the future.
We work in collocated offices across the county and have installed
several systems to assist in the efficiency of the contract and work
closely with the client to continually improve the service and deliver
in an efficient manner and identify how things can be done differently,
driving down costs.
Our services to Buckinghamshire include but are not limited to:
- Routine, cyclical and planned maintenance
- Design and Construction of schemes
- Winter Service
- Streetworks Coordination
- Traffic Management
- Urban Traffic Management Control
- Policy development
- Sustainable travel and road safety activities
- Parking management
