Description:
  • To take reasonable care and precautions for the health and safety of yourself and all other persons who may be affected by your acts and omissions and comply with all health and safety legislation.
  • At all times adhere to company procedures with regard to health and safety and where applicable to ensure all team members do likewise.
  • At all times adhere to agreed method statements and risk assessments.

  • To carry out inspections, testing and certification of electrical installations.
  • To assist with maintenance and fault finding works on road lighting, illuminated road furniture and all ancillary equipment as appropriate using relevant plant and resources.
  • To assist with installation, replacement, renewal and removal works on road lighting, illuminated road furniture and all ancillary equipment as appropriate including excavation and reinstatement work.
  • To assist with emergency attendance and making safe works on damaged/dangerous road lighting, illuminated road furniture and all ancillary equipment as appropriate.
  • To assist with audits to ensure safety, quality and environmental standards are met.
  • To help carry out all required checks of plant, equipment and vehicles including completion of associated reports.
  • Assist workforce to meet set production targets.
  • To assist with accurately passing on instructions to the workforce, keeping a record of progress and any amendments to the work.
  • To help ensure all required daily and weekly record sheets are accurately completed, including measurement of works undertaken, and submitted promptly.
  • To be available for out of office hours emergency activities in accordance with roster and within required timescales.
  • To assist with stock checking and tidying of stores.
  • To assist with winter maintenance activities as instructed.
  • To carry out night time inspections if requested.
  • To undertake further training as identified within the training matrix.
  • To help provide training to junior operatives.
  • To actively foster a positive employee morale.
  • To willingly carry out any reasonable task as requested and report back as required.
Qualifications:
  • NVQ Level 3 in electrical installation work (or approved equivalent)
  • City & Guilds 2360 Part 1 & 2 or approved equivalent (2330)
  • G39/1 Certificate
  • CSCS/ECS card
  • IPAF 1b card
  • Full UK driving licence and able to drive vehicles up to 7.5T (LGV Category C)
  • Provide positive example to members of team.

  • Courteous approach with colleagues, members of the public and other service delivery partners.

  • The inspection, testing and commissioning of installations (City & Guilds 2391 is a suitable qualification)
