Description

Undertake Technical Assistant duties to support the Asset Team and highway service so that the administrative processes related to the work of the organisation are efficiently and effectively executed. This role will report to the Asset Management Team Leader.


Responsibilities

Deal with all incoming enquiries, correspondence and e-mails that relate to all highway lateral extent enquiries for the service.

Monitor, update and co-ordinate information and activities to ensure that requests for information made by internal and external clients related to highway lateral extent enquiries are accurately recorded and processed, so to ensure a reliable and efficient level of service.

Management and necessary updates of key data sets including the Street Gazetteer, the Highway Records and the Asset Register. 

Undertake miscellaneous activities such as maintenance of various databases checking accuracy and subsequent verification of asset information.

Assist with the use of systems and data for collating and reporting relevant performance and management information including record keeping as required.

Managing the processing of cheques for the Asset Team enquires, ensuring all systems are updated and cheques are cashed within the required timescales.

Scan and create document profiles in the Document Management System to a rigid timescale for the asset management unit.

Carry out all duties and responsibilities with reasonable care for the health and safety of self and others and report any potential hazards or unsafe practices through the CEH reporting procedures.


Skills and Experience

Demonstrable office experience in a customer focused / public service environment.

Able to collate, interpret and analyse information and data.

Able to draft letters and emails.

Able to organise work to meet conflicting work demands, targets and deadlines

An ability to readily learn new ICT systems.

A good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.

Ability to communicate with people at all levels of the organisation.

Ability to show continual improvement.

Ability to act as a valuable team player.

Experience working with in the Highways industry is desirable.

Experience working with asset management software is desirable.

Understands customers’ needs and takes ownership for the outcome.

Proactively looks for ways to improve service delivery by seeking customer feedback.
