Description

To lead the IT Business Systems team which is made up of analyst, architects and support staff to direct, enhance, deliver and support an efficient business systems environment, to drive forward further integration, introduce effective controls and provide insightful reporting to enable the company to achieve its strategic objectives.


Responsibilities

Lead the development of the IT Business Systems strategy to aid the business in achieving its strategic objectives

To work with the Ringway Jacobs IT and technology teams to assist in the development of overall IT strategies across all Ringway Jacobs contracts.

Directly manage the business systems development road map and CAB ensuring approved development support strategic direction of system enhancements.

Ensure that business applications are reliable, consistent, secured and properly managed from a governance perspective

Introduce a structured and responsive approach to user requests relating to business systems development/enhancement

Regularly assess the existing business systems environment in light of new and alternative systems/products/processes

Liaise with the other members of the IT Department and clients to enhance and improve service.

To manage, contribute and participate in supplier performance and SLA reviews.

Liaising with other business areas including clients to use best practises for improvements to local systems and application across the business to ensure alignment with corporate strategy and SLA’s

Prepare appropriate update reports for senior managers and Ringway Jacobs corporate team.

To arrange and support the rollout of IT Business Systems training as appropriate.

To scope, arrange and manage the rollout of IT projects relevant to Ringway Jacobs and our customers.

To project manage allocated IT projects from business case through to completion of rollout.

Actively promote the company’s commitments in relation to environmental awareness and sustainability.


Skills and Experience

Demonstrable experience in managing “line of Business” applications.

Degree in ICT or related subject.

Experienced in presenting to all levels including client representatives.

Previous experience of managing a Microsoft D365 environment

Proven experience of project management.

Proven excellent written communication skills

Knowledge of ICT industry developments in relation to the highways industry

Required to be mobile throughout the UK and therefore a valid driving licence and use of car if not provided

Ability to prioritise own work to support business priorities.

Ability to work autonomously and manage conflicting priorities.

Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with key people both internally and externally.
