Reporting to the Management Accountant. The purpose of the role is to assist in the process, prepare, and assist in the analysis of management accounting information for presentation to senior management.

This role is fixed term for 12 months.


Assist in the Production of the Application, P&L and Balance Sheet for the Cheshire Contract.

Assist in the Report generation to the SMT and Team Leaders.

To assist the Management Accountant with detailed analysis on costs and project costings.

Working closely with Jacobs to ensure costs are processed on time.

Analysis of the Fleet and plant costs (working with the Fleet administrator).

Detailed costing analysis and running review sessions with Business Plan managers.

Detailed costing analysis and running review sessions with Project managers on Capital schemes.

Assist the Project managers with producing spend profiles for their schemes.

Consolidation of the spend profiles into a Forecast for internal use and also for the client.

Month End – Journal preparation and report updates.

Balance Sheet reconciliations.

Ad hoc reporting.

Supervision of Apprentice and 2 Finance Assistants in the Management Accountant’s absence.

Skills and Experience

Part Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA or relevant experience in a role.

Experience in a Finance role.

Advanced level Microsoft Excel skills.

Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles and processes.

Understanding of the principles for the preparation and monitoring of annual budgets and forecasts.

Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills.

Ability to construct and analyse accounting information.

Effective time management and prioritisation skills to ensure deadlines are met.

Ability to show continual improvement in a management accountant role in the organisational context.

Proficient in the use of accounting software packages (CPA, Sun and Vision desirable).

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications, Word, Excel, Outlook etc.

Part Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA or relevant experience in a role.

Experience in a Management Accountant role.
