Description

Reporting to the Permitting Team Leader. Manage day to day permit applications to ensure compliance across a range of measures, including but not limited to the following: Permit variations, Work starts, Work stops, Registrations.


Responsibilities

Manage day to day permit applications to ensure compliance across a range of measures, including but not limited to below;

1.       Permit applications

2.       Permit Variations

3.       Work Starts

4.       Work Stops

5.       Registrations

Monitor permits to prevent FPNs.

Ensure any FPNs received are challenged where appropriate.

Manage stakeholder liaison for works where required.

To carry out other duties consistent with the above that may be directed or implied from time to time as required commensurate to the post

Promote a safe working environment.

Ensure data collected is accurate and error free.

Ensure all related service performance indicators and contractual requirements are met

To follow the BMS systems processes.

Monitor permits to prevent FPNs.

Raising permit applications as per works descriptions.

Checking permit status.

Updating Permit Trackers.

Updating FPN Tracker.

Contributes to data required for SPI submission

Issuing work start notices to 100% compliance

Issuing work stop notices to 100% compliance

Issuing all planned permits

 


Skills and Experience

An understanding of highway maintenance and works.

An understanding of NRSWA, TMA and LoPS.

A flexible approach that is able to adapt to challenging timescales and workloads.

Confident in working with people at all levels.

Possess competent IT skills including the ability to adapt to various software and hardware and Asset Management Systems.

Ability to manage time and workloads to a strict schedule and complete tasks in a timely manner.

Ability to continually develop professional knowledge, skills and behaviours.

Ability to communicate effectively within all mediums.

Ability to coordinate and collaborate with other team members.

Ability to show continual improvement in the role and to the wider organisation.
