Reporting to the Design Team Leader. The purpose of the role is to assist in the initiation, planning and implementation of highway, traffic and road safety projects by providing support to the engineering and financial processes.



Provide assistance to the team in all aspects of its area of function.

To receive, record, disseminate, distribute, monitor and process various types of articles of correspondence/documents associated with the Team.

To help in preparation of monthly statistics/analysis of data relating to the performance of the Highway Service with respect to the associated Performance Indicators.

Manage processes and systems for collating and reporting relevant performance and management information.

To liaise with other areas of the business and officers of Cheshire East Council regarding the Highway Service issues.

To attend and minute meetings associated within the Highway Service.

Preparation of Agenda Items for various meetings associated within the Highway Service.

Represent the Company at meetings and similar when required.

To contribute with positive and proactive communications to Members, staff, interested parties and the wider public for all matters regarding enquiries.

Any other duties appropriate to this area of work and consistent with the level of post, as may be required from time to time.


Skills and Experience

Educational passes in English and Mathematics. GCSE A-C.

Good IT skills and conversant with Microsoft applications – Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.

Good written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

An understanding of civil engineering / Highway Services working;

An understanding of Local Authority Protocol.

Be self-motivating and able to manage own performance.

Ability to prioritise own work and be able to work with own initiative.

Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with key people both internally and externally.

A flexible approach that is able to adapt to challenging timescales and workloads.

Proven ability to act as a valuable team player.
