Description

To proactively assist the maintenance supervision team in putting the Operatives to work in a safe and efficient programme of planned and reactive maintenance, emergency out of hours work and winter maintenance.  A level 3 Civil Engineering apprenticeship will be offered with this role; typical duration will be 3 years. The successful candidate will be eager to learn and develop the practical hands on skills to work as an efficient and proactive Technical Delivery Apprentice, with a flexible, hands on, can do attitude.

 


Responsibilities

Provide support to the entire team working on a variety of maintenance work packages 

Ensuring work packs are brought together in a timely manner; all health and safety information, design information and supporting details are available (request what isn’t already available)

 Support delivery of performance indicator improvement plans helping us to meet targets 

Aiding the Supervision and Management team with administrative duties such as printing, scanning, meeting booking and note decision and action log taking, adding near miss and business improvement actions to the internal systems

Aiding the Supervisors whilst learning how to produce and input Traffic Management Assessments 

Aiding the Supervisors whilst learning how to conduct and write up site safety audits and ensure actions are followed up 

Carrying out any other reasonable duties required by line management 

 

 


Skills and Experience

Takes personal responsibility for work produced and escalates issues when appropriate 

An interest in a 24/7 industry where OOH working and winter maintenance duties will form part of your role as your experience increases 

Excellent computer skills including basic knowledge of word, outlook and excel 

Good communication skills

 Punctual, with a good work ethic 

Minimum of 5 GCSE’s A-C including English and Maths 

Experience in construction or engineering 

Full clean driving license with a desire to pass a HGV license through ongoing personal development and training with Ringway Jacobs 

Resilience and excellent organisational skills are necessary to work in this fast-paced environment and good IT skills are essential.
