Trainee Quantity Surveyor – London

Reporting to the Senior Quantity Surveyor. To assist in the delivery and governance of commercial services in accordance with RJ Governance in a manner that achieves both value for money for our client and sustainable shareholder value consistent with the contract, tender and agreed processes in the spirit of mutual trust and co-operation.
To work with the Operations, Commercial and Finance team to deliver on the specific activities.
Estimate the value of reactive and planned works orders prior to completion using all client systems as appropriate, including NAMS and Confirm.
Remeasuring reactive and planned works orders after completion in Causeway Project Accounting (CPA).
Collating and uploading final accounts in to NAMS or other client systems.
Processing of costs in CPA
Processing of subcontractor liabilities.
Managing supply chain ensuring applications for payment are assessed and certified in a timely manner.
To ensure the accurate processing and recording of commercial activities in CPA, NAMS and confirm.
Demonstrate an understanding of highway Construction activities.
To maintain and enhance the reputation of Ringway Jacobs by encouraging and demonstrating our core value of integrity.
To promote and value our culture of continual improvement while complying with our Business Management System policies and procedures.
To carry out any other reasonable duties that may be directed or implied from time to time commensurate to the post and /or organisational requirements.
Skills and Experience
Ability to manage and prioritise duties
Ability to operate the CPA system
Basic understanding of measurement principles and their application.
Ability to engage and communicate with client, stakeholders, subcontractors and third parties.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Good understanding of IT systems (Microsoft Office, in particular Excel).
At least 1 years’ experience in construction performing commercial duties.
