Cheshire East Highways provides vital walking route in Nantwich

Cheshire East Highways has delivered a CSR project involving surfacing works to improve the condition of a footpath to benefit local residents in Nantwich.

Following concerns from local residents about the poor condition of the footpath between Clonners Field and Cronkinson Oak on the Stapeley estate, and a land registery search that returned a lack of ownership, Cheshire East Highways stepped in to resurface the footpath at no cost. The project was delivered by partner organisations Pronin and Amberon, in support of Ringway Jacobs’ Corporate Social Responsibility Programme.

Councillor Peter Groves said, “I have already had a number of residents contact me to say what a superb job you have made of it and what a pleasure it is to walk on.”

Local resident, Nannette Crump said, I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone involved in getting the footpath made good. It looks great and I am sure it will be really appreciated by all the residents of Stapeley and anyone that uses it as a cut through, whilst removing what was an eyesore in some respects.
