Helping our local charities

Ringway Jacobs donates £1 to charity for every ‘near miss’, safety/environmental concern or safety suggestion that is reported by its employees. This helps us to create a culture that seeks to identify and control hazards, thereby reducing risks and the potential for harm.

During 2016, our employees reported 4254 ‘near misses’, safety/environmental concern and safety suggestion meaning that we have donated £4254 to charity. The money has been divided between our five contracts according to how many ‘near misses’, safety/environmental concern or safety suggestion each contract submitted during 2016.

The contracts have donated this money to the charity of their choice:

Central Bedfordshire HighwaysMIND - £189

Cheshire East HighwaysCTC Cycling Trust – Congleton branch - £1242

Essex HighwaysEssex Air Ambulance - £1388

LoHACMacmillan (split between Enfield and Haringey branches) - £568

Transport for BuckinghamshirePACE - £867

After being presented with the cheque from Transport for Buckinghamshire, Leah Lewis, Community Fundraiser at the PACE Centre said, “Attached is a photo of the children with the wonderful cheque you presented to us earlier in the week and we wanted to let you know that the children gave a massive clap to Transport for Buckinghamshire. You are all doing an amazing job, and the communication about PACE is clearly working, thank you so much. You guys really are awesome.”
