Ringway Jacobs and Transport for London wins CIHT Partnerships Award

The Ringway Jacobs and Transport for London (TfL) team delivering the Cycle Superhighway 2 Upgrade has won the prestigious Chartered Institute of Highways & Transportation (CIHT) Partnerships Award.

Delivered by Ringway Jacobs’ London Highways Alliance contract, the Cycle Superhighway 2 Upgrade is a TfL project which provides a segregated route for cyclists along a 4.5 km stretch of the A11 in London.

As well as having shared objectives and co-located staff, the introduction of a community based Public Liaison Officer proved invaluable for the scheme. The proactive, community based approach helped form relationships with the residents and businesses, keeping complaints to a minimum and offering an immediate response to any concerns.  

Engagement with other areas of TfL, companies delivering projects within the scheme’s vicinity, as well as local businesses and groups meant that any disruption was kept to a minimum. This impressed the Judges who commented on the way the team “used the partnership to enhance delivery and to deal with multi-faceted consultation, addressing the demands of all users of the network who would be impacted upon by the project.”

Last year, Ringway Jacobs won the CIHT Effective Partnerships Award for their partnership with Essex County Council.
