Central Bedfordshire Council and Ringway Jacobs partnership begins

Central Bedfordshire Council’s highways partnership with Ringway Jacobs begins on Friday 1 April as the new contract comes into effect. The contract duration is for an initial period of seven years with opportunities to extend up to 14 years.

The new contract procurement has delivered savings to the highway service. The new arrangements will also provide improved communications and a more consistent delivery providing improved satisfaction for residents and road users.

Delivery under the new contract gets underway from the beginning with works such as winter maintenance, emergency services, cleaning signs, painting white lines and structural maintenance already planned and programmed as the council and Ringway Jacobs look to hit the ground running.

Cllr Brian Spurr, Executive Member for Community Services said: “We are delighted to be working with Ringway Jacobs and hope we can build a hardworking, customer focused partnership over the next seven years.

“We are certain that the new contract will bring with it further improvements to our road network, better returns on investment and with that, more satisfaction to our many road users.”

Mike Notman, Managing Director of Ringway Jacobs said: “We are delighted to be working with Central Bedfordshire Council on this prestigious contract. We are committed to establishing an open relationship based upon trust and integrity.”

“We have built a reputation for assured delivery, forward thinking and innovative solutions.  We will bring our experience of collaborative working to build upon the relationship already formed during mobilisation to develop an increasingly efficient and effective highways service to meet the residents’ needs.”
