Cheshire East Highways helps WI centenary celebrations in Wilmslow

As part of our Corporate Responsibility Foundation, Cheshire East Highways staff along with our supply chain partner, Altak Ltd, helped to tidy a wide grass verge ready for the WI Centenary Garden. The work included cutting back nearby bushes, tidying the footway and removing the weeds. Our staff worked alongside the WI and local community group, Incredible Edibles, to create a planted area to commemorate the WI’s 100th Anniversary. 

On 16 September our staff gathered together with the Wilmslow’s WI branch and local community to celebrate their success by unveiling a plaque and planting a tree to mark the special occasion. 

Maurice Palin from the WI said, “the path around the garden looks much better, thank you to all involved.”

The garden is now open for the local community to enjoy.
