Cheshire’s job seekers came out in force on 30 April to find out about work opportunities at Cheshire East Highways. Over 100 people attended the ‘drop-in’ event at Crewe Alexandra Football Club to apply for advertised roles or express an interest in joining the structured training schemes available.

Hiring managers from Operational Maintenance, Capital Delivery, Flood Risk Management, Structures, Street Lighting, Network Management, Asset Management and Design were on hand to provide further detail on their vacancies and to offer an insight into projects that successful applicants would be working on. A representative from training advisor CITB also attended in support of the Apprentice and Graduate schemes.

The event was seen as a great way to engage with local people and given the large number of job applications received, is expected to generate efficiencies in our recruitment process.
