Cheshire East Highways welcomes 2015 intake of apprentices and graduates

The latest group of young talent – six apprentices and three graduates, has recently started work at Cheshire East Highways.

The apprenticeships range from Street Lighting Maintenance and Flood Risk Management to Highways Maintenance and Business Management, with our Graduate Engineers working in the Design Team and Structures Team.

Ringway Jacobs is a member of ‘The 5% Club’, an organisation which encourages companies to sign up to 5% of their UK workforce, over the next five years, being made up of young people on structured training such as Apprenticeship and Graduate schemes.

All our apprentices will be busy attending college courses and our graduates will be working towards gaining Membership of the Institute of Civil Engineers (ICE), as well as gaining experience in their permanent roles.

Mike Notman, Managing Director said, “As an organisation we take our commitment to the 5% Club very seriously, to the extent that 9% of our employees are either apprentices or graduates. I am delighted we continue to see more young people delivering our service in Cheshire East and I wish them every success in gaining their nationally recognised qualifications.”
