Completion of Archway Gyratory

Ringway Jacobs has completed the £12.6 million transformation of the Archway Gyratory. This complex scheme commenced in February 2016 and included removal of the existing gyratory at Archway roundabout.

The scheme has delivered increased public space, additional cycle lanes and replaced pedestrian crossings. The total volumes delivered include eight new signal junctions, 17000m2 of carriageway surfacing, 2500 granite setts and 4600m2 of ASP paving.

Additional works were also carried out on Holloway Road from St Johns Grove to Junction Road and included 4000m2 of surfacing and 3600m2 of paving.

The scheme was delivered with an impressive safety record, with no RIDDOR or Lost Time incidents occurring on site. The significant stakeholders in the vicinity of the works combined with a pedestrian footfall of over 10 million throughout the works makes these figures even more impressive.

The project was formally opened on 22nd August with the unveiling of a commemorative stone by Jeremy Corbyn MP.
