Central Bedfordshire Council are delighted to announce that Ringway Jacobs Limited has been awarded the Term Services Highways contract for seven years, starting from 1 April 2016.
The decision to award the contract to Ringway Jacobs was confirmed at the council Executive Meeting on 4 August following a rigorous procurement exercise. The new contract will allow the council to have greater control and influence of what happens on its highways network.
The contract is based upon the standard contract documentation developed as part of the Highways Maintenance Efficiency Programme which is a sector led initiative designed to maximise returns from investment in highways maintenance services.
The partnership with Ringway Jacobs will drive continuous improvement in both productivity and quality of the roads within Central Bedfordshire and will also make it easier for the council to respond to residents.
Cllr Brian Spurr, Executive Member for Community Services said: “We are all very much looking forward to working with Ringway Jacobs and the new contract ties in with the council’s priorities, with flexibility incorporated for a changing environment.”
Marcel Coiffait, Director of Community Services said: “Ringway Jacobs provided the council with the most economical and advantageous tender and their efficient way of working will enable us to better communicate with residents.”
Mike Notman, Managing Director of Ringway Jacobs said: “We are delighted to have been awarded this prestigious contract with Central Bedfordshire Council and are committed to establishing a productive relationship based upon trust, integrity and partnership.
“Our experience and collaborative approach means we will work closely alongside the council to develop an efficient and effective highways service required to meet the residents’ needs.”
