Double Success as Two Colleagues Reach European Women in Construction & Engineering Awards Final
Two employees have been named finalists at a major international awards event celebrating women in the construction and engineering sectors.
Procurement manager Chantel Watkins and HR advisor Emily Wilkinson have both reached the final stage of this year’s European Women in Construction & Engineering Awards, which recognise the achievements of women in industries where they have historically been under-represented.
The awards attracted more than 300 nominations from 12 countries, making the duo’s success a significant accomplishment.
Managing director Phillip Horton praised the achievement, saying the entire organisation was proud of both finalists. He added that their recognition reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to supporting and promoting women across the business.
Emily, who has been shortlisted for the Best Woman in HR category, said she was “delighted” to be recognised. She highlighted the significance of HR being included as a newer category and welcomed the growing visibility and appreciation of the profession.
Chantel also expressed her pride at being named a finalist, describing the recognition as an opportunity to help raise the profile of women in construction. She emphasised the importance of creating an industry where more women can progress into leadership roles and said she hoped her achievement would inspire others within the business and beyond.
The finalists will now go on to compete at the awards ceremony, with both wishing to use their platform to encourage greater diversity and inclusion across the sector.
