Our People

We have a diverse workforce offering a wide range of skills and talent. It’s this rich mix that makes us what we are. Dedicated and highly skilled, our people are the core components of ground-breaking service delivery.

Developing Our People

In order to do what we do well, particular care is taken in nurturing and investing in our people. From teams on the network through to engineers and designers, we strive to embed talent into all levels of our organisation.

We are committed to investing in new talent. That’s why more than 8% of our people are on our apprentice and graduate scheme. We have invested in building partnerships with learning providers to offer our apprentices the start they need for their chosen career.

Covering all of the skills required to fulfil contract delivery, apprentices are the lifeblood of our future. Taking on apprentices allows us to invest in the regions we serve and put something valuable back into the society we live in.

  Supporting our Armed Forces

We are a forces friendly employer who continuously strives to attract ex-military personnel to our organisation and support reservists working within our organisation. Having already successfully employed a number of people from the forces, we recognise the value reservists, veterans and military families bring to our business, together with the transferrable skills they bring to our work force.

We actively work with the Career Transition Partnership (CTP) to attract suitable service leavers and provide work attachments and CV guidance for potential employees from the services. We understand that service leavers might not always have all of the listed qualifications required for a role, therefore, we will provide the appropriate training, when required, to add to the skills they already bring and the opportunity to grow and develop their career with us.

We have been a proud supporter of the Armed Forces Covenant since 2017 and were recognised with a Silver Award under the Employer Recognition Scheme.

July 2020 saw us achieve the highly prestigious Gold Award in the UK Defence Employer Recognition Scheme for our commitment to supporting the Armed Forces Community. We are proud to have employed a number of forces veterans as we recognise the value they, reservists and military families bring to our business.
